Earthquake in England

After surviving an English earthquake myself (Dudley, West Midlands Earthquake – 23rd September 2002 – measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale) and hearing about recent English earthquake (Market Rasen, Lincolnshire Earthquake – 27th February 2008 – measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale), I had to smile about an email I received from a friend of mine.

Did you feel that earthquake last week?

It’s scary to think that with all the news on TV lately about extreme weather conditions affecting the east coast of the USA, mud slides in the far East and South America and now here in England we’re getting our fair share of natural disasters too. I’ve attached a photo showing the damage caused to a friend’s home from the earth quake last night. It really makes you cherish what you have and reminds us not to take things for granted.

I hope the people that it actually effected keep their British sense of humour and can look back on these events and smile.

About Martin Guppy

It was in my younger years, living in Kidderminster, England, UK, I picked up my first home computer - a Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ (1984). From that point on, I haven't been able to shake what seems to be my new found purpose. My 'hobby' has had me spend much of my life being surrounded by computers and gaining valuable knowledge through the art of trial and error. Thus leading me to developing Open Source Projects, such as CRIMP, Whap, Genwulf and maintaining a small cluster of my very own. I know I'm good at what I do. I also know I'm a keen and rapid learner. Should there be prospective information floating out there... I will consume it.
