The Hungry Horse in Shrewsbury

Today, gurgi and myself were taken to Shrewsbury Hospital by our good friend Steve P for gurgi’s 20 week detailed scan and afterwards we looked around for a place to eat.

Initially, we were going to visit an all-you-can-eat chinese resturant… but it was closed.

So while Steve was driving us about, I remembered seeing a Hungry Horse… but I wasn’t too sure on where it was or even if I did actually see one as it could have been another pub/restaurant that looked similar to a Hungry Horse.

Im quite a fan of these places and have been to a few of them before, the food has always been good – very reasonably priced – and the famous 17 inch diameter dinner plates.

As we were heading back to Welshpool, there it was…

Steve and myself opted for the 10oz rump steak laden with chips, peas, 2 flat mushrooms, 3 large battered onion rings and a half grilled tomato for only £6.99.

Chicken in a bun for gurgi, i think she thought that it would be a smaller meal but it also arrived on a 17 inch plate with chips, onion rings, corn on the cob and salad – not bad for only £4.99.

Needless to say we all left with full tummies – I love the Hungry Horse!!

About Martin Guppy

It was in my younger years, living in Kidderminster, England, UK, I picked up my first home computer - a Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ (1984). From that point on, I haven't been able to shake what seems to be my new found purpose. My 'hobby' has had me spend much of my life being surrounded by computers and gaining valuable knowledge through the art of trial and error. Thus leading me to developing Open Source Projects, such as CRIMP, Whap, Genwulf and maintaining a small cluster of my very own. I know I'm good at what I do. I also know I'm a keen and rapid learner. Should there be prospective information floating out there... I will consume it.
