Is It Safe to Have Sex During Pregnancy?

Well, my ever loving better half has blogged about sex during pregnancy today so I figured I had better post my own thoughts on the issue.

I think its a very common practice but a very little known fact that sex during pregnancy does not halm your baby.

If you’re having a normal pregnancy, sex is considered safe during all stages of the pregnancy.

Of course, just because sex is safe during pregnancy doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily want to have it! Many expectant mothers find that their desire for sex fluctuates during certain stages in the pregnancy. Also, many women find that sex becomes uncomfortable as their bodies get larger.

So in response to my partners post, I would like to say ‘YIPPIEEE’

…and for other future fathers, make sure you both enjoy the pregnancy together and if sex isn’t desirable for your partner, then dont worry – because as long as you both love each other, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find other ways to express each others love.

For the time being at least – I feel like im the luckiest guy alive!!

About Martin Guppy

It was in my younger years, living in Kidderminster, England, UK, I picked up my first home computer - a Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ (1984). From that point on, I haven't been able to shake what seems to be my new found purpose. My 'hobby' has had me spend much of my life being surrounded by computers and gaining valuable knowledge through the art of trial and error. Thus leading me to developing Open Source Projects, such as CRIMP, Whap, Genwulf and maintaining a small cluster of my very own. I know I'm good at what I do. I also know I'm a keen and rapid learner. Should there be prospective information floating out there... I will consume it.

well aren’t you the lucky one, ya got a lillun on the way, _AND_ you get regular sex?! *jealous* :-p

  3. “sex is considered safe during all stages of the pregnancy” – what about when actually giving birth? Do you think their’d be enough room with the baby coming out and the doctors hands going in? Hmmm. Don’t have to answer that one – of course you would!!!! ;)

    lmao.

    nicholas.

    Heh,

I suppose you have to stop at some point… I guess its the same as a pre-birth shopping trip to the supermarket… we do actually control ourselves while in the frozen food section…

Seriously tho… for people worried about this sort of thing, and without googling for an answer… sometimes sex can be used to bring about labour…

So unless ‘sex becomes uncomfortable’… the lead up to the due date could become a sex frenzy… …could be a good thing if you have noticed the counter on the top of gurgi’s site …specially if we wanted the birth to the nearest day… hour… minute… or even second – lol!!!

And for other ppl that joke about babies being born with 2 black eyes… this is due to the birth itself and has nothing to do with rampant sex…

Thanks for your comment Nicholas m8 :D …it definately inspired me to add some more information for expectant couples to read :)
